A super duper clean ridgeback

Last Sunday, after a very productive morning of running through mud in the park, Ari required a bath. I employ the same strategy for a 77 pound puppy as I do for my 8 pound Himalayan cat – give him a bath inside a shower.  He has to be coerced into walking into a spare bathroom, which is achieved by strategically placing treats on the floor and inside the shower. He dances back and forth, grabs a treat and steps out, but eventually gets himself trapped behind a glass door. Hand held shower, Plush Puppy shampoo for short haired breeds, old white sock and Seabreeze Oil conditioner - that's all it takes to produce a super duper clean plush puppy. The best part is when he shakes the water off, which he does quite often, the water stays inside the shower - mostly absorbed by me. He is a good soldier, even though he weeps a little throughout the process. But I can trust myself more than any grooming service, so no doggy spa away from home. After he is done with the conditioner, I dry him off with 2 towels. Here he is looking very happy during the water absorbing stage.
